The classic lines and beauty of cars can become an obsession for many and there are a number of organizations and individuals that have built up impressive collections. Some of the most famous around the world include the following.

Fans of movie cars will find plenty to keep them interested at the Miami Auto Museum. Its car collection includes a James Bond exhibit that features six Aston Martins and a Hollywood section that includes Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Delorean from Back to the Future, and the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters. As well as this it has many US and European classic cars on show to give an auto enthusiast much to see.

Formula 1 fans can view some of the most famous racing cars from the sport at the Donnington Grand Prix Collection. Located at Donnington Park, it is set out over five halls and has over one hundred exhibitions. F1 championship winning vehicles on show include those driven by Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill. Visitors can also see the cars of other famous names from the sport and this includes Ayrton Senna, Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio.

Some individuals have built up impressive car collections, with the Lingenfelter Collection being the pride and joy of Ken Lingenfelter. It has around 150 vehicles that include Corvettes from the 1950s to the present day, 1960/1970 muscle cars, and exotics from the 1970s onwards.

It is housed in a 40,000 square foot building that is occasionally open to the public. Jay Leno is as celebrated for his car collection as he is for his TV career. His Big Dog Garage is home to over 200 vehicles, with some of the best including a 1909 Stanley Steamer, a 1955 Buick Roadmaster, and a 2007 Ariel Atom. Cars are a part of most people’s lives and for those that become enthusiasts the collections shown above are some of the best around.
